Ithaca Threads
by Ron Guy
Woven roots of ancient olives trees
Hold ancient lime and stones
Terra ferma of the soul
memories firm,
Destroyed in fleeting second
not in our choosing
Lines of the horizon
thrown vertical
colours recreated and destroyed
night to day, shadow to shade
Full anger of Aries
Sweetness of Irene
Captured importance
Insignificant measured by past
Transcend by future
Cling to breath
Vapour dispersed
Among all other breaths
Bi-lines in the cafenio
The hearse will call for them too
Good bye good bye
The dust of your bones will rise again
Woven roots of ancient olive trees
(C) 2011 Ron Guy
